Immunization and Travel Medicine Services

Omega Medical Center is a certified center for travel medicine, immunizations and counseling.

For employees whose work requires travel outside of the country, Omega Medical Center can provide necessary vaccinations, basic safety and health information, and pertinent health alerts from the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization.

Our certified medical staff can counsel employees about any precautions to follow and medicine or medical supplies to take along, and answer any questions and concerns about the location in question.

For employees who are traveling domestically, we can provide information about trusted clinical partners who are near the business destination, should the need for health services arise while they are away from home.

On-Site Flu Vaccination Clinics

Influenza can cause days of fever, chills, cough, sore throat, head and even muscle aches. On average, 36,000 people die each year from the flu. More than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu complications such as viral or bacterial pneumonia, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and the worsening of chronic medical conditions.

The CDC recommends that the best time to receive the flu vaccination is between October and December. Vaccination should take place before February, when flu activity usually peaks. Those at high risk — including people over 65, those who have a chronic or long-term condition, and pregnant women — are especially encouraged to get vaccinated. Even those who are not considered high-risk should still get a flu shot.

Omega offers a convenient on-site flu vaccination clinic for your employees. Our professional medical staff will come to your worksite to administer flu shots and provide information on flu prevention to your employees. This is an easy and effective way to maintain a healthy and productive workforce throughout flu season.

To schedule a flu vaccination clinic at your workplace:

  • Determine approximately how many employees will be vaccinated
  • Contact Siobhan Hawkins at [email protected] to schedule the date and time

Omega Medical Center will provide you with posters announcing the date and time of the event to display at the worksite

You also have the option to send employees to our facility for a walk-in flu vaccination. Email [email protected] for further details.

NOTE: The H1N1 vaccine is widely available to administer at your worksite or at our facility in Newark, Delaware.
