Medical Review Officer (MRO) Services

The Medical Review Officer is the ultimate line of defense in drug testing. Omega Medical Center retains the services of a certified MRO to protect the employer, the donor and the process. At Omega Medical Center, our goal is to make sure you are always confident about the information we provide.

The process works as follows: Test results are transmitted through secure electronic channels from the labs to the office in Newark, Delaware. After reviewing the test with the donor, the MRO reports the test as positive or negative. The final decision on the test rests with the MRO, relieving the employer of any liability associated with that test report. The MRO also advises employers regarding guidelines for dealing with employees who have tested positive.

Benefits of MRO Services:

  • MRO Verification: You can feel confident and secure about the information we provide because our MRO is certified by the American Association of Medical Review Officers.
  • Legally Defensible Record Maintenance: Omega Medical Center’s Medical Review Office maintains all drug screen records electronically in a highly secured facility. All drug screens stay on-site interminably.
  • Government Regulations and Standards: Omega Medical Center partners with Department of Health and Human Services–certified and nationally accredited laboratories to ensure government regulations and standards are met. These labs use immunoassay-based testing, which meets the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration for commercial distribution.
  • Customized Reporting: Omega’s MRO uses a proprietary software package that enables customized reporting to meet the varying needs of each company.
